IRONODIE ~ Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Texas

IMG_4400IronOdie North of Houston, Texas; The Woodlands is home to the 2013 Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Texas.  A crazy triathlon, athletes begin with a 2.4-mile swim, 112-miles on bicycle and ending with a 26.2-mile marathon.  Participants have exactly 17 hours to finish and only 50 qualifiers go on to the IRONMAN World Championship in Hawaii. 2,818 competed and I was lucky enough to photograph one of these entrants on his 140.6 mile virgin IRONMAN run.  I have never seen anything like this race and it is truly a feat beyond belief.  One word-Atmosphere!

Now, meet James Oltman, "Odie" is what everyone knows him as.  First time IRONMAN competitor, and 3 years ago he weighed 281 pounds. Odie is my best friends big Brother and I always remember him being bigger, that has all changed however and he is now a slim & forever changed, triathlon competitor.  Family & Friends gathered from several states to support him and we even had angels with us on race day, as we were amazingly able to locate our IRONODIE 3 times on the bike course, and create some beautiful images.

Here are his words as he explained his amazing journey to me:

"I had always thought about doing triathlons. For many years when I was living in Nebraska I was always intrigued with the sport. Whenever I would get to the decision of doing one, it was always in mid winter when the weather wasn't conducive for training. By the time the weather got nicer, there never seemed to be a level of urgency to my decision, and it always got pushed to the back burner.

In the winter of 2010 I had ballooned to my highest weight ever 281 pounds. I was never "unhappy" with myself, nor did I ever consider myself "obese". I never had that defining eye opening moment, or health scare or anything along those lines. I had always wanted to get in better shape but had never really had a sense of drive to stick with it once I would try starting.

My old college roommate Jarod had been doing triathlons for a couple years at this point. He has tried talking me into them before, and once again we were having a conversation about them. Living in Texas at the time I knew weather wouldn't be the issue it once was living in the Midwest. So one day I finally just decided I was going to go for it.

I signed up for the Austin Triathlon that was going to be held Labor Day weekend in the fall of 2010. At this point it would give me 4 months to train for it and see what I could accomplish. I started running, albeit it very slowly, with one of my coworkers who had also been on a weight loss mission. It started off by running a mile without stopping. Then eventually two. I also joined a masters swimming class to learn how to swim properly for racing.

Slowly but surely I was able to run farther. The weight was slowly starting to come off. By the time the Austin Triathlon came around I was 50 pounds lighter weighing in at 231. I only signed up for the sprint distance (1/2 mile swim, 17 mile bike, 3.1 mile run), and at times it was painful, but I will never forget the feeling crossing the finish line. It was at that exact moment I knew I wanted to go for "it". The Ironman.
I knew it was going to be a journey and a long one at that. However I had never been more committed to something. By the time I ran my first half marathon I was down 60 pounds total. My first half ironman I was down 95 pounds total. When I ran my first marathon I had lost over 100 pounds completely on my own. No fad diets, no surgeries, no reality tv shows. Just staying committed to a goal and combining eating right and exercise.
You will never here my say I am on a diet, because I am not. A diet is something that is temporary. If you want to see results and see them stick, you have to make a lifestyle change. Its one I made 3 years ago, and I haven't looked back.
On May 18, 2013, after many years of hard working and dedication, after 5 half marathon races, 4 half Ironman triathlons, 2 full marathons, and countless shorter races, my dream became a reality. 15 hours 52 minutes and 39 seconds after the starting cannon for Ironman Texas went off, I crossed the finish line.
It was a special day, and one I will never forget. But with all that being said, I am already looking forward to the next one!"
Thank you Odie, Thank you for letting me travel with your family and capture your amazing day on camera.  It was an experience that you, nor I will ever forget!

Amber & Her Boys-From Another Photographer’s Perspective!!! Several years ago in a children’s photography workshop, I met a wonderful lady by the name of Sherri Rohrig.  As I sat next to her in class and spent the whole day with her, I knew that I must get to know her better.  She was so full of helpful tips, a warm and friendly smile and everything a great friend and mentor should be.  Over pizza, I got the guts to ask if she’d let me visit her studio and give me some more tips into starting my business.  To this day, she is one of my closest friends and a truely amazing lady!  She was the first person that came to mind, when I decided to have maternity portraits taken during my 4th pregnancy & with my 3 little guys.  They are amazing and I’ve shared some of them with you!  Sherri is located in the small Southeast Nebraska town of Geneva, and make sure to check out her beautiful portraits on her Picture This Photography website and her Facebook Page Picture This Photography- Sherri Rohrig!  Thanks for everything Sherri!  Sherri-Rohrig-Pic-Blog

Ice Fun~Atkinson, NE Photographer ice2012_A-464x1024 ice2012_B-464x1024 So, I did something a little fun this evening.  The first set of pictures show our trees outside, covered in a light layer of ice and what was in the background…jumpy steers peering at me through the ice covered branches!  The next set is the evergreens again, gross little balls of animal hair stuck on the barbed wire and some of my pretty grass from the burm next to field!  All the black in the background comes from the calves themselves!  Brr, it was cold…the baby in my belly didn’t like it, my camera didn’t like it and my fingers didn’t like it…so I rushed back inside to snuggle with my little boys!  Hope you enjoy! So, I did something a little fun this evening.

I love how they look at each other, I noticed this when we did their engagement session.  They look at each other with such an admiration and spark in their eyes.  I love their first look photos too, you can definitely see it here!

In preparation for a winter wedding, they used feathers blown through straws, instead of bubbles…looked just like fresh falling snow and such a cool idea!!!

Oh, how I love the Rockies!!!~Atkinson, NE Photographer

A beautiful birch tree. Perry showing off for me as the group heads back to the trailers. Just north of Walden, CO looking at my favorite view-the Rocky Mountains.

I love this light fixture and I miss drinking real red beer.
A beautiful old barn near Steamboat Springs, CO. The city of Steamboat and Rabbit Ears Pass on the Continental Divide.
My husband loves snowmobiling, and so do I!  When he decided to go to one of his favorite places near Walden, CO I decided to tag along.  This was the best I could do being 6 months pregnant.  While he was off riding high in the mountains, I enjoyed some peace and quiet without my 3 little boys.  I drove the country side, only to find very little snow for the first of January, but still beautiful sceneries.  I checked out the town of Walden and Steamboat Springs and especially loved my Portobello Sandwich – Grilled cap served on Ciabatta bread, cheese, lettuce, tomato, cucumbers & guacamole from the River Rock Cafe in Walden!  Mmm, we actually ate there a couple times and also at the Moose Creek Cafe for some wonderful breakfast!

Alfalfa~Atkinson, NE Photographer Ahh, it’s that time of year for the Shane family.  Alfalfa, Alfalfa, Alfalfa…Time to bale Alfalfa!  Most of our hay is dairy quality and gets baled into 4x4x8 bales, stored and then shipped out of state.  Some leaves the farm still baled, and some gets ground and shipped to nearby feedlots.  The edges of fields get round baled, some goes into smaller 3x3x8 squares…yes, I know that’s not actually a square! LOL  This evening my 3 big boys got to ride, one each with Daddy, Grandpa & Grandma.  The baby and I cruised around the field checking out the sunset/baler combinations to create some beautiful images.  These images are straight out of the camera (SOOC).  Welcome to a little piece of our farm life!alfalfa-2012Blog12

Nebraska Sunset~Atkinson, NE Photographer june-nebraska-sunset

Another gorgeous Nebraska sunset.  I was on my way home from a session and saw this view from my mailbox!  It also is SOOC, so untweaked.  I love how I caught the bird in the first one and the clouds covering the sun, just make it look steamy!  And, of course our good old pivots show you just how rural we are!

Light Painting!~Atkinson, NE Photographer While on vacation with my family at the gorgeous Eagle Springs Lodge, I decided to have a little fun with my family and our surroundings!  Painting with light is something I have done in the past, but really wanted to see what I could come up with that was unique!  I have hopes to get to do this again with some larger subjects!

It was midnight, some guys were out night fishing and with others sleeping on the couch around us, we painted with an array of light and played until we came up with something cool!  Each one of these pictures took from 3-5 people!

Greg & Shalee’s Engagement~Atkinson, NE Engagement Photographer gregshalee2 gregshalee-506x1024

This couple did an absolutely amazing job!  We traveled to a couple outdoor locations that are special to this couple and their families.  We lucked out with the combine shots as it was broke down at the moment we stopped by to take pictures.  The landscape provided beautiful surroundings and the light was gorgeous!  These 2 are so sweet and in love and I can’t wait for their wedding day!  I got a kick out of Greg trying to sneak his DeKalb hat in on a couple shots and Shalee laughing as she tried to get rid of it!  They also weren’t afraid to try anything that I asked of them.  Great job Greg & Shalee!

cone-reception-COVER1-824x1024 This sweet couple got married in an outdoor ceremony at Fort Hartsuff State Historical Park near Elyria, Nebraska on a cool and drizzly day.  Despite the dampness it was an absolutely perfect and beautiful day, just like the bride-gorgeous!!!  They say it’s good luck for it to rain on your wedding day!!

We had taken their engagement pictures at the same place after some crazy Nebraska winds stirred up dust and cotton and temporarily stranded us indoors, so we knew the potential for beautiful portraits was definitely there.  Some of my favorites are natural window light from inside the barracks.

Let’s give a cheer and blessing on many years of wedded bliss for Kayla and Cody!  Congrats and thank you for letting me share in your special day!

School Days! In September, my son Oliver started his second year of preschool and Ian his first year!  Below are some quick snapshots of the boys each on their first day of school.  Just wanted to share them with you because every time I pass the refrigerator, they put a smile on my face and remind me how cute my boys can be!  They both are loving their experiences at St. Joe’s Little Critter’s Preschool and love coloring with markers over crayons.  Today Oliver came home with “big boy” glue in his hair!  All the kids said he tried to put cotton balls on his head-whew-LOL!

Each of these photographs is SOOC (strait out of the camer) using natural light!  For the indoor photos, I upped the ISO setting and used window light from Ian’s right (camera left).  You can tell the indoor images are more orange and warm, thanks to my orange wall!school-693x1024

school2 You can tell Ian is a little apprehensive about his first day!  Oliver was super excited to show off his back pack, thus his “pose” and as always, I am “in love” with his dimples!

Dan, 2012 Senior~Atkinson, NE Senior Photographer rentschler-dan-cover-824x1024

Photographing Dan was fun and relaxed, just like his personality.  I think he has a little bit of an ornery side, which I tend to think goes along with being a second child (even though technically he is the 3rd)-ha ha ha!  You can see by his final pictures, just how fun he can be!  I love how the first jumping picture, looks like he is grabbing the yield sign in the background!  Dan even let me photograph his first tattoo, which I thought was pretty cool because he symbolized his family name, and to me is very important for people to appreciate !!  Thanks so much Dan!

Jena, 2012 Senior~Atkinson, NE Senior Photographer Jena is such a beautiful young lady and has the most gorgeous blue eyes ever!  If you have ever seen a ring light, her baby blues have a natural built in catchlight!  All her raw images, have blue eyes just jumping out at you.

We had originally scheduled her pictures for July, on a day that was the hottest of the season.  Thank goodness we changed the date, her new session was on a beautiful day.  She has tons of great old buildings around her home that are full of character and exactly what I love.

She did a wonderful job and even got some help from her little sis.  Jena and her siblings have all gotten close to my boys, as baby sitters, friends who help us on cattle drives & branding and just to come over and hang out!
Thanks Jena!

Heiser Boys~Atkinson, NE Children’s Photographer These 3 handsome trio of young men are some of the cutest around.  It is easy to relate to them, having 3 little guys myself!  I loved to look at them and see how they are so different, yet definitely brothers and alike in so many ways.  I love Anthony’s grin and the twinkle in Dawson’s eye hiding behind his more serious look.  Collin, I just love his little baby look and adorable little smile.

One of my favorites is the very middle picture, where Collin is playing with bark and the older two are wrestling in the background.  Little boys, through and through!

Jamie, 2012 Senior~Atkinson, NE Senior Photographer

Jamie had a few ”ideas” up his sleeve, so we gave them a try and had loads of fun.  He really knew how to make the pictures totally his style!  I absolutely love the Green glow lights (even though I did the photo above in B&W) on the pick up and Truck and the perfectly coordinated irrigation system in the background!  He did such a great job, especially considering the awful awful temperature that day!

Cameron, 2012 Senior~Atkinson, NE Senior Photographer Cameron is a hard working young man who loves to work with his Grandpa and his Uncle on the farm and even showed me just how clever he is when it comes to old vehicles.  Take a look at the top picture of him in front of the old farm truck, after getting the door open and checking out what was under the hood he told me about how an old truck like this ran.  We checked out the old “Ford’ symbol in the windows and the cab heater under the dash.

The old and fancy Ford trucks at the bottom were no match for Cameron’s driving skills.  He started them right up and drove them into the pasture.  Look at the trees in the background and see how much moisture was in the air the day we took these.  It literally drizzled through the beginning hour of pictures and finally cleared off a bit!

We also had a great time hanging out with his family and hunting cool places for pictures on his Grandfather’s farm!  Cameron did a great job and was so full of fun ideas!

Hansen Family~Atkinson, NE Family Photographer

I had a blast hanging out with this adorable young man, checking out his Farmall Cub that they had gotten all ready for the day, playing in the trees and catching up with Mom and Dad.  We walked around the yard and the farm and found some great places to take pictures.  We even checked out their old barn and scaled around a little mud, as the rain had been making appearances and there was a thought that it might appear that evening, so it was definitely an adventure finding some fun backdrops.  That is part of what I love about meeting with people where they live, each place is unique to them (and of course the people)!  Thanks guys!!

Shane Ladies-Silver Star Photography by Amber Shane~Atkinson, NE Portrait Photographer Before Mother’s Day, Becky had received a Facebook post about setting her profile picture to one of her and her mom.  She felt like she didn’t really have a nice one to share with everyone, thus the reasons for the pictures below.  We gave Barb a sitting for Mother’s day, scheduled a date in our busy schedules and what do you guess happened….it RAINED!  So, we started out hiding under the porch with my camera in the rain and covered in plastic, eventually moved under the tree when it slowed down and finally out into the open!  We had a great time planning what to wear and spending the evening battling rain drops!  My sister-in laws and mother-in-law are all beautiful ladies, inside and out.  I can’t tell you how special they are to me and how much they do for me.  We snuck in a few individual portraits and maternity pictures of Becky, who is due with her first baby in September!Shane-Girls-2.Silver-Star-Photography

Kunc Family~Atkinson, NE Family Photographer These adorable little girls are my nieces.  To me they are the most beautiful little girls in the world!  I can’t wait to see them every time I go “home” for the weekend.  It is crazy to see how they grow and I love to watch them interact with my boys.  My older brother Justin and his beautiful wife Mandy are great parents to these two and it makes me chuckle to think that Justin has the only 2 girls in the family and I have the 3  boys.

We recently were able to spend a few days together in celebration of Ian’s 3rd Birthday.  It was nice to be able to spend more than just a few hours together!  The kids were definitely tuckered out at the end of each day.  Can’t remember a time when we’ve ever heard more giggles!

This session brings tears to my eyes every time I look at the images.  I’m not sure why, but it’s pretty special to capture the beauty in a family, especially when it’s your brother’s family.  I never imagined Justin growing up and being so tender and loving.  I love how he welcomes Tayley with a warm hug after spending the afternoon away from her and checks over her every bug bite with great care and concern.

Sand Family~Atkinson, NE Family Photographer This family traveled all the way from Wilber to visit and have me make beautiful portraits of their little guy Easton!  Words can’t express how excited I was when she said they were coming to see us!!!   Jamie and I have been friends for as long as I can remember, at least since Kindergarten.  We’ve had lots of fun times over the years and one of my most memorable was trying to keep up with her on our High school dance team when I got put in a camp group for athletes who “excel” and let’s just say I tried to keep up.  She was so supportive and helped me through it til the end!!!  Jamie is an amazing dancer (and friend) and let’s just say that I excelled at “shooting” things.

Jamie’s husband Gabe and my husband Perry have become fast friends over the years and I was so pumped that he was able to make the trip as well.  He was such a good sport and we all had a great time celebrating the 4th together!!!

Kayla & Cody~Atkinson, NE Engagement Photographer This sweet young couple met me in Burwell, where we then traveled south to Fort Hartsuff near Elyria.  They will be exchanging their wedding vows in this awesome State Historical Park and our plan was to scope out the location and get a feel for the place.  A storm was brewing and arrived way too early.  We first watched a dust storm roll just to the south of us until the wind hit the Cottonwood trees and the cotton flew-straight up our noses!  Rain was not far behind, so we ventured inside the buildings (which are open for touring!) and we waited instead of running to the car and ruining their freshly ironed shirts and Kayla’s curly hair.

When the rain cleared we ventured back to Burwell and stopped at the Burwell Livestock Market where Cody works with his family and the young couple began their basis of their relationship.  Kayla had taken a job across the street from the Livestock Market at the Vet Clinic and they must have thought that each other was pretty cute, because the rest is history!!!

Congrats on your engagement and upcoming wedding!

Goeke Family 50th Anniversary Celebration!~Atkinson, Nebraska Family Photography I recently got the chance to photograph Clayton (everyone knows him as “Butch”) and Lura Goeke and their wonderful family, in celebration of their 50th Wedding Anniversary.  This couple is very near and dear to my family and hold a special place in my heart.  Sometimes I feel like one of their grandkids!  As part of my church family, they show us their wonderful faith and guide us with their love of music.  I always love Lura’s strong voice in church, when singing hyms and look forward to Butch’s invitation to go fishing or coyote hunting!

They have set a wonderful example for their ever expanding family and I wish for them many more years together!

1880′s Train Ride~Hill City & Keystone, SD

A recent trip to Chadron to pick up my sister-in-laws college stuff, warranted a quick trip north to Hill City, South Dakota for a ride on the 1880′s Train.  Almost 2 years, ago when I was pregnant with Case, we stopped here on our way home from a family wedding in Rapid City.  We happened to drive through and were able to watch the train leave Keystone.  I already knew our boys were in love with trains and vowed that we’d be back to actually ride. The boys loved it and now we can’t wait to see how beautiful it is in the fall!

I’ve wanted to start adding in some camera info so here it is! Canon EOS 7D, 24-70 f2.8L lens. Train: f/9 ISO 200 1/80th sec at 66mm. Window: f/4.5 ISO 640 1/100 sec at 70mm. Oliver: f/2.8 ISO 200 1/80th sec at 45mm.

Branding at Shane Farms~Silver Star Photography by Amber Shane-Atkinson, NE Branding got off to a good start this year.  We had a beautiful day, full of sunshine and a little breeze.  We had bloody noses, laughs and windburns, good food, neighbors helping neighbors, first timers and old timers when it comes to branding.  All in all, we branded about 500 calves, using several family brands.

Even though I took a lot of pictures, it was hard running around giving shots and trying not to trip over ropes or get stepped on by horses.  I even tried carrying my camera in one hand and my vaccination gun in the other, a little hard when sometimes it took two hands to squeeze due to my sore thumb (shut it in the door of the dually 2 days prior!).

Look closely and you’ll see the clouds in the bottle!  And, yes, the brands appear upside down.  You (I) couldn’t actully see the brands the right way due to the smoke.  If you ever have a chance, check out Nebraska brands.  It’s a pretty neat site but I prefer to peruse the old brand books instead.

BRANDING.Blog10-690x1024 I love these of Barb, Case and Perry with the farm in the background.

Shortly after we were done, Perry took my little boys (Ian and Case) for a ride.  They couldn’t handle sitting in the back of the Yukon XL when the horses were in plain site.  Case just oozes with excitement when he gets to ride.  He’s great at getting them to move.  “Trot, Trot,” he says!

Thanks to everyone who helped!  Hopefully our California visitors had a great experience and enjoyed their time back in Nebraska.

Scott Holtgrew’s "Deerestroyer" Competes at Championship Tractor Pull-Silver Star Photography b The National Farm Machinery Show at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky held February 16-19, 2011 holds the nationally recognized 43rd Annual Championship Tractor Pull.  It is an invitation-only event where the nations’s best drivers compete in the oldest large-scale indoor pull in North America.  Local contestant Scott Holtgrew pulled “DEERESTROYER” in the 9300# Super Farm division.  His tractor is a John Deere 8530.  His Thursday night pull was awesome at 242.37′ and ended him in 6th place!  Great job Scott and keep up the good work!

scott holtgrew.amber shane.silver star photography.atkinson nebraska
I was lucky enough to sit at the finish line and get some on the track shots!  I definitely need to grow a few inches, I either had to stand on my chair to see over the Full Pull Magazine and guys or squeeze between them, the firemen and the “safety” rope!  Luckily Scott’s division is quiet, but the trucks make a horendous noise and compression that literally made me shutter and brought tears to my eyes.  It made me feel like sitting 20 feet away was way too close!  Needless to say, I was glad to retreat to my seats in the stands.
The object is for drivers of these trucks and tractors to pull a weighted sled the farthest distance down a dirt track.  The weight in front of each category indicates the weight of the truck or tractor and not the weight they are pulling.  As the sled is pulled forward, weights on the back move toward the front and begin pushing the sled down into the dirt, making it increasingly harder to pull it.  Pulling the full distance of the track is considered a “Full Pull.”  If more than one driver achieves a full pull, they pull again but with extra weight on the sled.  The driver who pulls the farthest wins.
Below is a list of the trucks and tractor divisions at the Championship Tractor Pull:
6,200# 2WD Super Modified & 7,500# 4WD Super Stock Diesel Trucks
10,200# Pro Stock Tractors
8,200# Super Stocks Tractors
7,500# Modified Tractors

Investing in the history of your family-Atkinson, NE Photography Photographers call the money spent on family portraits as an “investment”.  I’d like to clarify that.  To me it is an investment in the HISTORY OF MY FAMILY.  I remember the oval portraits of my ancestors hanging on the basement walls at my Grandpa Kunc’s house and when thinking about these, I thought of it as a great way to help people understand what we mean by an ”investment”.  Years down the road, loved ones will reminisce about family memories and be so appreciative of the money & care you put into preserving such special moments.

Investments don’t need to be diamond engagement rings, rental property or farm ground.  If it were me, I’d want a picture of my family, wearing my grandmother’s engagement ring, standing in a field of soybeans that has been in my family for 100 years!

Open House Specials through 01/19/2011

My open house was amazing!  I wasn’t sure what to expect.  I knew people were sick and there were ball games in town, but so many people showed up!  I was tickled pink!

I gave away several cake pans with my logo on them.  These came from Grafted Tree Engraving in O’Neill and were awesome!  They came with cookie mixes that Oliver and I had made for his preschool classmates and home made soap from local creator Curie Mincer  Next was a custom photo bracelet and a free sitting fee!

Here were the winners!
Large cake pan, cookie mix, soap-Phyllis L.
Medium cake pan, cookie mix, soap-Linda H.
Custom Photo Bracelet-Karla S.
Free Sitting Fee-Brenda D.
Thanks to everyone for entering the drawings!

My best friend from high school, Jenny, she is amazing, she came on Wednesday and became my nanny/cook/egg picker/lunch room enforcer.  She was everything I didn’t know I needed!  Barb & Amelia helped watch the boys.  Mom made curtains.  Dad hung backdrops and pictures.  Perry & Kirk moved snow, several times!  I had other friends drive 4 hours just to visit for the evening!

Thanks everyone for a wonderful evening!

Let me know what your favorite picture or product was!

*I have 3 boys-Oliver, Ian & Case

*I love to hunt and read and don’t get to do either enough

*I was very blessed to marry into a wonderful and loving family.  They care for me like I didn’t know in-laws could.  They are amazing supporters of my work and help me in someway everyday!  I couldn’t do it with out them.

*I like to shoot (in the studio) in my socks.  Some days you may see some crazy ones!

*I love antiques and things found at flea markets!

*I love old fashioned peppermint sticks, chocolate covered coffee beans and mocha moolattes from Dairy Queen.  Oh, and I LOVE Taco John’s.  I even made a commercial while working at a local Taco John’s in High School!
*I think I have a wierd sense of humor.  I am slow to catch onto jokes and I can’t tell a joke to save my life.  Well, except for this one.  “One guy walked into a bar.  The other one ducked!”

*In high school I was super involved in FFA.  I was an officer, a parlimentary procedure team member, I gave speeches on Piping Plovers and my favorite of all…my team placed second at State in WELDING!  I am awesome at MIG and OA welding.
*Also in college, I worked as a Soil Survey Tech at the USDA, basically I ground up dirt from all over the world.  It was a “dirty job”.

*My college degreees are in Agriculture.  Crops, Diversified Ag, AgEconomics and AgBusiness.

*I met my husband at SCC in Beatrice.  He tried to pick me up while eating Welch’s fruit snacks and bragging about going mudding.  I love Welch’s fruit snacks, mudding and Perry!

*I am a tomboy, plain & simple.  If I could wear a hat everyday, I would!

*I love trapshooting!

Finally, finally, got my little family together for our family picture!  This was supposed to be done weeks before Christmas, but thanks to the stomach flu it got postponed.  Anyway, it’s ready now for all to enjoy!  Hope everyone has a beautiful day!

Sick with the flu… Had to reschedule 2 sessions.  Ian has had the flu for two days!  This morning he woke feeling and looking great, but that only lasted until lunch time!  I am always disappointed when I have to reschedule, but that’s life and everyone understands!  So here I sit, with Ian in my lap, Case needing to take a nap and Oliver playing away.  Lots of my days are spent with babies in one hand and computer/camera in the other.  Hopefully my boys grow up and are proud of what their mommy does and don’t hate me for the time I spend away from them!  Not sure about this blogging thing yet, is it just another thing to put on my plate!?  It is kind of like a diary, just not sure you all want to listen!  ha ha ha

Thanksgiving! It’s late and I should be headed to bed!  Case will probably be up before long, so I might as well edit some more pictures and dink around on the internet.  No more ebay purchases…  I am ready to spend time with Perry’s family tomorrow.  One of my favorite things in life is to spend time with family.  Tomorrow morning I need to make my favorite dessert dish, DIRT.  It will probably be a shortened version of it, with RED OREOS!!! Should be yummy!

Thursday 10/28/2010 Yesterday I measured my babies.  They have each grown at least 3 inches since February!  Right now they are playing with combines (on or near my computer).  Having 3 little boys can be pretty crazy!  They want to go play outside and take pictures.  I can’t refuse, it is beautiful out there and we haven’t taken any fun photos in a while.  Oliver, who was in his undies earlier got told to get dressed and he so ablidged.  In fact he was so excited to go out and play that he drug his chair into his closet to find his new shirt.  Subseequently he fell off the chair and now has a scratch from chin to belly button!  Needles to say, I found his new shirt for him and got the other boys in theirs.  Is is dorky to dress them the same?  They are so darn cute, I can’t help it!  Guess I’ll try to post some pics later and get this blogging thing figured out!
